The Retail Coach Launches Retail Recruitment Partnership with Kingsport, Tennessee!

(Kingsport, TN) — The City of Kingsport recently approved a new partnership with The Retail Coach, the nation’s premier retail consulting, market research, and development firm, to develop a retail recruitment strategy to bring new business opportunities to Kingsport. This partnership is a step in the right direction to diversify Kingsport’s economic base and focus on first-to-market retailers and restaurants. 

The first step in The Retail Coach’s dynamic Retail360® Process will be to analyze the market and identify retail opportunities. Their team will utilize cell phone analysis technology to draw out Kingsport’s Retail Trade Area, which is the defined boundary from which the community draws 80-85% of its primary consumers. This will show exactly where people are coming from to eat and shop in Kingsport. 

The Retail Coach team will then create retail profile reports and other marketing materials that best represent the community to encourage national/regional retailers and restaurants to locate in Kingsport. After determining what dominant retail categories are needed in the community, The Retail Coach will use retailer matching methodology to identify what brands have the greatest potential for success and actively recruit those prospects on the city’s behalf.
